How do I get to your church?
We are located at the corner of 10th and Charles Streets in downtown St. Joseph. 10th Street is a northbound one-way street, so approach from the south.
Where do I park?
Parking is available in two lots:
Immediately south of the church (driveway on 10th Street, just north of Sylvanie Street).
Concerta Urgent Care parking lot, 904 Edmond St, St. Joseph, MO 64501. This lot does not belong to First Lutheran but is available for use on Sunday mornings and other occasions when there is a large gathering.
In addition, parking is available on both sides of 10th Street.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Parking spaces are reserved in the church’s south parking lot and the entrance is equipped with door opening buttons. An elevator is located near the south entrance provides access to the upper level where the sanctuary is located.
Restrooms on both levels are ADA compliant.
What should I wear?
Dress however you like. We're just happy to see you. There are people who dress very casually and others who like to dress up.
What should I expect during services?
All of our previous worship experiences are on our YouTube channel, www... You will receive a visitor bag from one of our ushers. Please sit where you like. We are excited you came, and we do not have assigned seats. Every week, we celebrate Holy Communion and Pastor Sami will give everyone instructions before welcoming us forward.
Doors lock ten minutes after worship service starts. We have a Ring doorbell you may use, and the ushers will let you into the building.
Do I have to give money?
No! You are a guest. It is totally up to you whether you give money or not.
What will my kids do?
Children and youth are vital members of our worship community. They are encouraged to take a bag if they would like things to do during worship. Bags are at the south entrance of the sanctuary in the entryway. They are also encouraged to participate in worship by singing, dancing, and coming forward for Children’s Chat.
